Dayton on Tour - October 11th & 12th, 2008

Dayton on Tour is a fantastic weekend of Historic Home Tours, Art Walk and Artists Reception, with a special presentations at the Liberty Theater.
Enjoy viewing inside a selection of the 117 homes on the National Register of Historic Places that are in Dayton. The homes are complete with docents for the historical experience.
Dayton is home to a wealth of extremely talented, and celebrated artists. You will be able to visit with the artists and view demonstrations, view current works available for purchase or commission works for your taste.
The Artist reception is held at the Historic Dayton Depot, where you can enjoy the excellent wines of the Walla Walla Valley Appalachia and savory treats from local chefs and live music by our favorite local musicians.
Our Main Street Retailers are active participants in this event with special activities and displays in their stores. A bonus along with the unique shopping you will experience here.

Saturday, October 13th
11:00 am to 6:00 pm Art Walk Featuring Columbia County Artist at the Wenaha Gallery, Jill Ingram Gallery (both on Main Street), and the Historic Dayton Depot at 222 E Commercial, and Keith McMasters Studio at 4 Courthouse Way, just off Main behind Manila Bay Restaurant.
12:00 Noon at the Liberty Theater will be a presentation of Independent films by Whitman College Students.
4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Join us for the Artist Reception with live music by Skye Book & Brew, wine tasting, and savories. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet our talented art community. There is no cost for the reception.
Main Street Retailers will have shop displays and special features throughout the weekend. Enjoy the unique shopping experience you will find in Dayton. Schedule of events available at all retailers and restaurants.
* Skye Book & Brew - live music by the Blarney Pilgrim on the Button Box Friday from 6 - 8 pm and Skweez the Weezle on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm.
* Hugs, Gifts, & Collectibles - Special beverages.
* Patit Valley Products - Dayton Artists from the Past.
* Jacci's Yarn Basket - Driftwood Originals by Tom Wooten.
* Bearpaw Trading Post - Tracie Barthlow as well as wood, steel, glass, and leather art.
* Country Cupboard Bakery & Gifts - Yummy samples
* Palus Museum - Photographer Mike Huntington (Mike will be at the Museum Saturday only) display through December.
* The Village Shoppes - Artists Bette Opbroek, and Shirley Scott.
* Wenaha Gallery - Bonnie Griffith a Walla Walla artist will be featured on Saturday and will draw with pastels during the day.
* Day Escape Spa - Dillon Vessels on mixed media, with Spa tours and refreshments throughout the weekend.
* Dingle of Dayton - Mary's choice of refreshments will accompany the Dingles experience.
* Mrs Mc's Antiques - Celebrating 50 years in business. Featuring Kay Seibert original watercolors and antique prints.
Sunday, October 14th
Historic Home Tours begin at the Dayton Historic Depot at 12:30 pm, tickets are $10 per person. This year they will be touring two classic Queen Anne Victorian homes, an Arts and Crafts cottage completely redecorated and landscaped to reflect the charm of that period; the private residence on the second floor of the historic Dantzscher Building (also known as the Dorsey Building, located on Main Street); the Dayton Public Library, celebrating its’ 70th anniversary and located in its’ original Art Deco building; and the Boldman House Museum, showcasing the main floor now completely renovated, and the garden brimming with heirloom plant species. On display in the Boldman House will be items presented for evaluation at the Antique Road Show held in Spokane this past August. For additional information on this event phone: 509-382-4825
