University professor, Dr. Otis Franklin, escapes the doldrums of academia by accompanying his brilliant doctoral candidate, Lizzie, to a scientific symposium in Atlantic City. Later her friends realize that there are some rather peculiar things about Lizzie's professor, not the least of which are Doc Franklin's untamed table manners and distressing, vocal proclamations.
